Thea Thomas, President
Thea has been a gillnet fisherman for over 20 years and has served on several Boards of fishing organizations including former co-chair of Cordova District Fishermen United (CDFU) gillnet division, 1990-1998 during which time the original allocation policies were debated and adopted as well as the Copper River Salmon Producers Association (CRSPA), 1998-2003. She is presently on the Board of Directors for the ASMI Retail Committee and Salmon Committee. Thea has been instrumental in the successful formation of the CR/PWS Marketing Association.
Bill Webber, Vice President
Bill has been a life long Copper River fisherman and has been at the forefront of the direct marketing model for our region. In addition to fishing and marketing, Bill is a boat builder and aluminum fabricator.
Danny Carpenter, Treasurer
Danny has been a commercial fisherman for over 20 years and currently sits on the board of the Copper River Fishermen’s Cooperative.
Scott Seaton, Secretary
Scott has been a gillnet fisherman for over 20 years. Scott currently serves on the PWSAC board. As a former owner/operator of a rafting company, he has 7 years experience in small business marketing. He says, "I think our future in the PWS salmon fisheries depends on staying ahead of the competition in both quality and marketing, just as we are doing on the Copper River. Our Marketing Association's emphasis on first, improving our quality by chilling every fish with the help of an ice barge and second, seeking out our target consumers and the subsequent branding and marketing of our PWS salmon, is something that must be done. I'm pleased to be able to contribute to these efforts."
Brian Rutzer
Brian has been a director of the Association since 2007. He has been a commercial fisherman for over 20 years. In addition to fishing, Brian is also an accomplished boat builder and commercial pilot with 10 years experience.
Eric Harvey
Eric lives in Eagle River, Alaska. He has commercial fished for 20 years, the last four years set netting in Main Bay.
Mike Poole
Mike has been a director of the Association since 2008. He runs a successful direct marketing business and sells his salmon into markets throughout the United States. Mike's experience benefits the Association as we look at ways to expand our export markets.
Buck Brown
Buck has been fishing in Alaska for 35 years, mainly Cook Inlet salmon seine and set net. He has also herring seined in PWS, Kodiak, Cook Inlet herring gillnet, halibut, blackcod longline, p-cod, and shrimp, whan there was some. Currently he fishes for Copper River salmon and runs a waterfowl hunting business. He has lived in Seldovia all these years, raised 3 kids, and still calls it home with his wife of 30 years, Rita. Buck was elected to the board of directors in 2009.
